Where and how to start

Welcome to COM Church. We are so excited you have chosen to be with us today. At COM Church we hope you will be inspired, challenged, refreshed and informed. With eclectic worship, Bible-based teaching and many midweek activities, our prayer is that we will provide nourishment for your walk with God.

Sarah and I have served in COM Church for over 30 years, stepping into the role of Senior Pastor in November 2016. God has called us to continue to build on the great foundation that Pastors Doug and Helena faithfully laid.

We continue to reach our community for Jesus and endeavour to equip you with the tools that you might influence your workplace, school, college or family. We also reach further afield with our “mission” projects, with fire engines to Kenya, ambulances to Uganda and supporting the work of Elim missions.

At COM Church we love a team and helping people to find their place in the church community. We believe one of the best ways to make new friends, to grow spiritually and broaden our own horizons is to serve. We have many opportunities to get involved whether through COM groups, hospitality, hosting, children and youth (subject to DBS checks), Worship, tech and media etc.

So we hope this has answered a few questions and possibly intrigued you to find out more!

Take some time to read through the information on this website, or you can connect with us on the COM Church website, through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

God Bless

Julian and Sarah Richards

What do I do when I get there?

We aim to make sure the first face you see at COM Church has a smile on it. When you arrive, whatever you need, from Crèche to Junior Church, our welcome team will be nearby to help.

Where can I park my car?

At COM Church there is ample parking both in the public car park [no charge on Sundays or evenings] and the COM Church parking facility routed off the public car park. In the event of special needs due to disability etc, please let a host know and we will make other arrangements for you. Alternatively please feel free to phone the Church office and leave details so that we can arrange to serve you.

What should I wear?

Our concern is to meet your real-life needs rather than worry about what you wear. So, casual dress is going to help you fit in with most others here.

What happens in a Church like Com Church

We’re sure you’ll enjoy the music and worship, no matter what age you are, and the practical messages will help you cope with real-life situations. As you join with us, we want to help you find the personal help for today and hope for tomorrow that only God can give us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Is the church after my money?

We believe the offering is for those who are a regular part of the COM Church family. We’d far rather that you get something from your first visit than us asking you to give something.

Words from our newcomers

  • I was surprised how friendly everyone was, I immediately felt at home.

    Steve Perkins
    Overseas Visitor
  • We were surprised when they suggested that as first time visitors, we need not participate in the offering but just relax and enjoy the service.

    Wesley & Michelle McCalla
  • My children love the kids' meetings, and both my husband and myself are impressed with the programme content for them and with the level of security in place for the children

    Wendy Marr
  • I can wear what I find comfortable and not feel out of place.

    Emma Leopold
  • We found the message was so right for us. The vibrant music and worship were so uplifting… We’re so glad we were directed to COM Church.
